Course Description

This “crash course” immerses participants in the experience of “working while Black.” Through the framework of R.A.V.E. – respect, appreciate, value, empower—participants will hear about the workplace experiences of several Black professionals in their own words. The power of their stories will take participants from theory to reality while at the same time providing actionable meaning for respecting, appreciating, valuing, and empowering Black employees. In a self-paced experience that includes video instruction, interactive quizzes and “Do the Work” assignments, participants will know how to R.A.V.E. about Black employees in words and deeds. [3 Video Lessons; Course Duration ~1 ½ hours]

As an ATD-certified Master Trainer, professional speaker, advisor, and coach, Theresa has facilitated over 1,000 training sessions in 23 countries, spoken at over 100 events, produced 15 courses, and authored 4 books.

With over 25 years of content and delivery experience as a professional speaker and facilitator, Theresa takes clients beyond unconscious bias with a transformational experience that is (1) focused on challenging hearts and minds, (2) centered on the necessary discomfort that precedes growth, change, and action, and (3) grounded in honoring lived experiences.   • What's the process to enroll my group or organization?

    If you don't have any special requests then just contact us via email and let us know how many employees you would like to enroll and we'll send you an invoice. If you have special requests, then please click the "Request A Quote" link and complete and submit the form and we'll send you a proposal/invoice. Once paid, we'll either provide you with coupon codes for each employee to self-enroll or we'll group enroll them once provided with an enrollee list (first name, last name, email address).

  • Can the course be customized for my company, division, group or team?

    Yes. Customization options include: 1) opening and closing video message from your organization, department, group or team leadership; 2)course naming and branding; 3)course content additions and deletions (modules, lessons, worksheets, quizzes, surveys, etc.); 4) course licensing for staff meeting, group gatherings, and events; 5) private course platform for the entire organization, each department, team, or cohort; 6) instructor led support and accountability (online discussion group or live Zoom sessions); 7) instructor led live Zoom keynotes, webinars, workshops, and lessons; 8) other requests welcome.

    Once enrolled you have 1 year of access to the course, unless your organization has alternate terms. All pdf course documents can be downloaded or printed for lifetime use.

    Yes. Closed captioning is available for all videos.

  • Am I allowed to share video lessons with colleagues or in a group setting?

    No. Each enrollment is for an individual license to be viewed by enrollee only. For group viewing, a one-time group showing license may be purchased separately. Contact us for pricing.
